Counts the number of times that the state machine transitions from AUTHENTICATING to ABORTING, as a result of the Backend Authentication state machine indicating authentication timeout (authTimeout = TRUE).

What is dot1xAuthAuthTimeoutsWhileAuthenticating?

This object counts how many times a device failed to complete 802.1X authentication because the backend authentication server did not respond within the timeout period. A network security administrator tracks this counter to identify authentication server reliability issues or excessive network latency. Increasing values suggest problems with RADIUS/TACACS+ connectivity or performance.
