ieee8021MstpCistPortAutoEdgePort

Module: IEEE8021-MSTP-MIB

OID (symbolic): IEEE8021-MSTP-MIB::ieee8021MstpCistPortAutoEdgePort

OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.6.1.8.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: The administrative value of the Auto Edge Port parameter. A value of true(1) indicates if the Bridge detection state machine (BDM, 13.31) is to detect other Bridges attached to the LAN, and set ieee8021SpanningTreeRstpPortOperEdgePort automatically. The default value is true(1)

This is optional and provided only by implementations that support the automatic identification of edge ports.

The value of this object MUST be retained across reinitializations of the management system.

What is ieee8021MstpCistPortAutoEdgePort?

Set to true(1), the default, to let this port's Bridge Detection state machine automatically figure out whether another bridge is attached and set its operational edge-port status accordingly, rather than relying solely on the administrative ieee8021MstpCistPortAdminEdgePort setting; only meaningful on implementations that support automatic edge detection.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.6.1.8.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-MSTP-MIB::ieee8021MstpCistPortAutoEdgePort

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.6.1.8.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-MSTP-MIB::ieee8021MstpCistPortAutoEdgePort.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.6.1.8.1.1.1 s <value>
