ieee8021AsPortDSSyncReceiptTimeout

Module: IEEE8021-AS-MIB

OID (symbolic): IEEE8021-AS-MIB::ieee8021AsPortDSSyncReceiptTimeout

OID (numeric): 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.20.1.5.1.24

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The value of this attribute tells a slave port the number of sync intervals to wait without receiving synchronization information, before assuming that the master is no longer transmitting synchronization information, and that the BMC algorithm needs to be run, if appropriate. The condition of the slave port not receiving synchronization information for syncReceiptTimeout sync intervals is referred to as 'sync receipt timeout'.

The initialization value is 3 (see 10.6.3.1).

The contents of this variable SHALL be maintained across a restart of the system.

What is ieee8021AsPortDSSyncReceiptTimeout?

How many sync intervals a slave port waits without receiving synchronization info before declaring a sync receipt timeout and re-running the best master clock algorithm (default 3). Lowering it speeds up failover detection but increases sensitivity to transient loss.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.20.1.5.1.24
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-AS-MIB::ieee8021AsPortDSSyncReceiptTimeout

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.20.1.5.1.24.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> IEEE8021-AS-MIB::ieee8021AsPortDSSyncReceiptTimeout.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.111.2.802.1.1.20.1.5.1.24.1 i <value>
