What is ibmOSAExpChannelNodeDesc?

Returns the 32-byte Node Descriptor obtained from the Channel Subsystem, a structured field encoding validity flag, class, CHPID, type number, model number, manufacturer, plant code, and sequence number as fixed-offset EBCDIC/character subfields. Support staff typically decode this to positively identify the exact physical OSA card (model and serial number) behind an interface, rather than reading it as free text.
