What is mainIfOperStatus?

This value reports the operational status of the trunk's main interface, such as up, down, testing, dormant, or lowerLayerDown, at the time of a hwTrunkPortSwitch notification. Admins use it to distinguish a physical or lower-layer failure from an administrative shutdown as the cause of the trunk switchover. For example, seeing lowerLayerDown(7) in the trap suggests the main interface went down because an interface it depends on failed first.
