Module: HUAWEI-ENTITY-TRAP-MIB

OID (symbolic): HUAWEI-ENTITY-TRAP-MIB::hwEntityCommunicateType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.219.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The communicate type.

What is hwEntityCommunicateType?

This value identifies which internal communication channel — controlChannel(1), monitorChannel(2), clockChannel(3), or dataChannel(4) — is associated with a communication-failure trap on the entity. Admins use it to know which internal link between chassis components has failed, since a control-channel failure has very different implications than a clock-channel failure. For example, hwEntityCommunicateType reading clockChannel(3) tells the admin the card's timing synchronization link failed, which can affect TDM or SDH interfaces even if data forwarding still works.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.219.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HUAWEI-ENTITY-TRAP-MIB::hwEntityCommunicateType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.219.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HUAWEI-ENTITY-TRAP-MIB::hwEntityCommunicateType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.219.1.4.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> hwEntityCommunicateType.1
