hwDetectEngineOAMEnable

Module: HUAWEI-DETECT-ENGINE-MIB

OID (symbolic): HUAWEI-DETECT-ENGINE-MIB::hwDetectEngineOAMEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.308.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: EnabledStatus

Access: read-write

Description: Globally enable or disable the detect-engine for oam. If the hwDetectEngineOAMEnable is 1, detect-engine for oam is enabled. If the hwDetectEngineOAMEnable is 2, detect-engine for oam is disabled. By default, detect-engine for oam is enabled.

What is hwDetectEngineOAMEnable?

This setting globally enables or disables the Huawei device's detect-engine capability for OAM (Operations, Administration, and Maintenance) functions, which underpin features like Ethernet connectivity fault detection. An administrator would disable this only if they specifically need to turn off OAM-based detection globally across the device, since it's enabled by default. With the value 1 meaning enabled and 2 meaning disabled, and the documented default being enabled, OAM detection is active out of the box unless explicitly turned off.
