Description: The hwCdpCompliancePortConfigNotificationEnable controls, on a per port basis, whether or not notifications from the agent are enabled. The value true(1) means that notifications are enabled; the value false(2) means that they are not.

What is hwCdpCompliancePortConfigNotificationEnable?

This true/false flag controls, on a per-port basis, whether the agent generates CDP compliance notifications for that port. Admins enable it on ports where they want to be alerted to CDP-related events, such as neighbor changes, and disable it elsewhere to reduce trap volume. For example, setting this to true(1) on an uplink port lets the NMS receive traps when a CDP neighbor is discovered or lost there.
