Module: HUAWEI-CDP-COMPLIANCE-MIB

OID (symbolic): HUAWEI-CDP-COMPLIANCE-MIB::hwCdpCompliancePortConfigAdminStatus

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The administratively desired status of the CDP compliance of the port. If the associated hwCdpCompliancePortConfigAdminStatus object has a value of 'disabled(1)', then port will discard CDP packets received on this port. If the associated hwCdpCompliancePortConfigAdminStatus object has a value of 'rxOnly(2)', then the port will receive and store the CDP packet, but it will not transmit CDP frames on this port.

What is hwCdpCompliancePortConfigAdminStatus?

This per-port setting controls CDP compliance behavior on an interface, either disabled(1), which discards received CDP packets, or rxOnly(2), which receives and stores them without transmitting CDP frames out that port. Admins use rxOnly(2) to passively learn about CDP-speaking neighbors on a port while keeping the port itself silent. For example, a port facing a Cisco IP phone might be set to rxOnly(2) so the switch can see it without sending its own CDP advertisements.
