Description: The hwCdpComplianceNotificationInterval indicates the interval (in units of seconds) of sending CDP notifications. The default value for hwCdpComplianceNotificationInterval object is five seconds. The value of this object must be restored from non-volatile storage after a re-initialization of the management system.

What is hwCdpComplianceNotificationInterval?

This integer, from 1 to 10 seconds, sets the interval at which CDP compliance notifications are sent, defaulting to 5 seconds and persisting across reinitializations. Admins tune it to control how frequently the device emits SNMP notifications about CDP neighbor changes without flooding the NMS. For example, lowering it to 2 seconds would make neighbor-change alerts arrive faster at the cost of more frequent traps.
