Description: The threshold value of ICMP packets speed. when the speed of ICMP packets to one host in this zone reach this value, the firewall will drops the subsequence ICMP packets to this host.
What is hwAtkZoneIcmpFloodSpeed?
This Integer32, 0 to 1,000,000, sets the ICMP-packet-per-second threshold for a security zone; once ICMP packets to a single host reach this rate, the firewall starts dropping subsequent ICMP packets to that host. Admins tune this to blunt ICMP flood, or ping flood, attacks while still allowing normal ICMP diagnostic traffic through under the threshold. For example, setting hwAtkZoneIcmpFloodSpeed to 3000 causes the firewall to begin dropping ICMP packets to a host once its ICMP rate exceeds 3000 packets per second.
