OID (symbolic): HUAWEI-ALARM-RELIABILITY-MIB::hwARRetryCount

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.141.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

What is hwARRetryCount?

This object sets how many times the device will resend an SNMP INFORM message to a target host if it doesn't get an acknowledgment, and the value applies uniformly to every configured trap and inform destination. An admin increases this on unreliable network paths so informs are more likely to eventually be delivered, or lowers it to reduce network chatter when destinations are reliably reachable. For example, the default of 3 means an unacknowledged inform is retransmitted up to 3 times before the device gives up on that particular notification.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.141.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HUAWEI-ALARM-RELIABILITY-MIB::hwARRetryCount

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.141.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HUAWEI-ALARM-RELIABILITY-MIB::hwARRetryCount.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.141.1.2.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> hwARRetryCount.1
