Module: HUAWEI-8021x-EXT-MIB
OID (symbolic): HUAWEI-8021x-EXT-MIB::hwDot1xIfEAPEnd
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.22.1.3.2.1.5
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: Indicates which EAP authentication mode is adopted for the specified 802.1x profile. In the 802.1x function, the authentication packet can be processed in two modes: EAP end and EAP relay. Options: 1. eapEnd(1) -indicates the EAP end authentication mode. If local user authenticates on DSLAM directly, it does not need to communicate with the remote RADIUS server. If the user is not local user, it must be authenticated on the remote RADIUS server. 2. eapRelay(2) -the user must be authenticated on the remote RADIUS server Default: eapReplay(2)
What is hwDot1xIfEAPEnd?
This OID selects the EAP processing mode for an 802.1x authentication profile: eapEnd(1) lets a local user authenticate directly on the device without contacting a remote RADIUS server, while eapRelay(2) - the default - requires every user under this profile to be authenticated by a remote RADIUS server. Admins choose eapEnd for profiles serving locally-provisioned users to avoid unnecessary RADIUS round-trips.
