Description: The total packets send to cpu successfully.

What is hpnicfWlanMtToCpuTxFrameCnt?

This read-only Counter64 reports the total number of packets successfully sent up to the main CPU from the wireless forwarding path. An admin monitors it as the baseline count of control-plane traffic (such as management frames or unmatched flows) being punted to the CPU for handling. A rising hpnicfWlanMtToCpuTxFrameCnt alongside a similarly rising hpnicfWlanMtToCpuDropFrameCnt would suggest the CPU-bound traffic volume is starting to exceed what the device can successfully deliver.

Start monitoring HP/H3C Comware wireless LAN controller/access point (VCPU forwarding-plane load) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Create custom SNMP monitor using the HPN-ICF-WLANMT-MIB::hpnicfWlanMtToCpuTxFrameCnt OID value, configure state conditions and alerts, and monitor any HP/H3C Comware wireless LAN controller/access point (VCPU forwarding-plane load) from a single console.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Select an HP/H3C Comware wireless LAN controller/access point (VCPU forwarding-plane load) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type hpnicfWlanMtToCpuTxFrameCnt into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. The total packets send to cpu successfully. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is a Counter64-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if utilization exceeds 85%, a common warning threshold before sustained high load affects performance. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
