hpnicfIgmpSnoopingGroupLimitNumber

Module: HPN-ICF-LswIGSP-MIB

OID (symbolic): HPN-ICF-LswIGSP-MIB::hpnicfIgmpSnoopingGroupLimitNumber

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.8.35.7.1.5.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The maxmum group number of IGMP Snooping on a port.

What is hpnicfIgmpSnoopingGroupLimitNumber?

This read-write value sets the maximum number of multicast groups a port is allowed to join under IGMP Snooping, defaulting to the maximum unsigned 32-bit value (effectively unlimited). An admin lowers it on access ports to prevent a single port or host from joining an excessive number of multicast groups and consuming switch resources. For example, setting this to 10 on a set-top-box port limits that port to at most 10 simultaneous multicast group memberships.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.8.35.7.1.5.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HPN-ICF-LswIGSP-MIB::hpnicfIgmpSnoopingGroupLimitNumber

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.8.35.7.1.5.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HPN-ICF-LswIGSP-MIB::hpnicfIgmpSnoopingGroupLimitNumber.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.15.8.35.7.1.5.1.2.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> hpnicfIgmpSnoopingGroupLimitNumber.1
