Description: Configure ARP packet rate limit. Support for the value range depends on the device model. If the object is set to 0, the ARP packet rate limit will be disabled.
What is hpnicfARPRatelimitValue?
This setting configures the maximum rate of ARP packets, in packets per second, that the device will accept before triggering rate-limiting protection, with a value of 0 turning the limit off entirely. Administrators tune it to protect the device's CPU from ARP flood attacks or storms while still allowing legitimate ARP traffic through. For example, setting this to 100 would cap accepted ARP packets at 100 per second, dropping or rate-limiting anything beyond that and likely triggering the corresponding trap.
