snmpdStatus

Module: HP-UNIX

OID (symbolic): HP-UNIX::snmpdStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.13.2.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Indicates the status of the agent. Setting the agent to down will kill it.

What is snmpdStatus?

Shows whether the agent is up(1) or down(2); writing down(2) to this object will actually kill the running snmpd process, per the description. Because a write here terminates the agent, it should be changed deliberately and never as part of routine polling.
