hrSystemUptime

Module: HOST-RESOURCES-MIB

OID (symbolic): HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSystemUptime

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TimeTicks

Access: read-only

Description:

The amount of time since this host was last initialized. Note that this is different from sysUpTime in the SNMPv2-MIB [RFC1907] because sysUpTime is the uptime of the network management portion of the system.

What is hrSystemUptime?

This object measures the total time in hundredths of a second since the host system was last initialized, independent of SNMP subsystem uptime. Unlike sysUpTime (which tracks only the SNMP agent), this reflects the true operating system uptime. Operators use it to diagnose system stability, correlate service outages with reboots, and plan maintenance windows.

Examples

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSystemUptime.1

Example output:

HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSystemUptime.0 = Timeticks: (231160694) 26 days, 18:06:46.94
