hrStorageSize
Module: HOST-RESOURCES-MIB
OID (symbolic): HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageSize
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-write
Description: The size of the storage represented by this entry, in units of hrStorageAllocationUnits. This object is writable to allow remote configuration of the size of the storage area in those cases where such an operation makes sense and is possible on the underlying system. For example, the amount of main memory allocated to a buffer pool might be modified or the amount of disk space allocated to virtual memory might be modified.
What is hrStorageSize?
This object represents the total capacity of a logical storage area (such as disk partition, RAM, or buffer pool) in units specified by hrStorageAllocationUnits. This writable object allows remote configuration of storage size on some systems where dynamic allocation is supported. An operator would use this to monitor storage capacity and potentially adjust allocated storage for buffer pools or virtual memory on managed systems.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageSize
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageSize.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5.1 i <value>
SNMPv3 example:
snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> hrStorageSize.1
