hmRpcRingport1OperState

Module: HMRING-MGMT-SNMP-MIB

OID (symbolic): HMRING-MGMT-SNMP-MIB::hmRpcRingport1OperState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.14.5.4.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Operational state of ringport 1. disabled(1) indicates that all frames are dropped. blocked(2) indicates that all frames are dropped except - frames used by the selected ring protocol selected which are defined to pass blocked(2) ports, - frames from other protocols which are defined to pass blocked(2) ports. forwarding(3) indicates that all frames are passed through according to the forwarding behavior of IEEE 802.1D. not-connected(4) indicates that the port has no link.

What is hmRpcRingport1OperState?

Shows the live forwarding state of RPC ring port 1: forwarding(3) for normal traffic per IEEE 802.1D, blocked(2) where only the ring protocol's own control frames (and any other protocol frames also permitted through a blocked port) get through, disabled(1) drops everything, and not-connected(4) means no link. An admin uses this to see which ring port is currently carrying traffic versus which one is deliberately blocked to prevent a loop.
