hmLLDPStatsIfaceFDBEntryCount

Module: HMLLDP-MIB

OID (symbolic): HMLLDP-MIB::hmLLDPStatsIfaceFDBEntryCount

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.14.7.2.1.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description: The number of remote connections in the LLDP MIB's remTable for this port that were detected in the forwarding database (FDB) for this port.

What is hmLLDPStatsIfaceFDBEntryCount?

This read-only counter reports how many of this port's remTable entries were detected via the switch's forwarding database (learned MAC addresses) rather than through received LLDP messages. Admins use it to see how many neighbor entries on a port come specifically from MAC learning, which matters when hmLLDPIfaceFDBMode is set to macOnly, both, or autoDetect and no LLDP is being received. For example, a port with a nonzero FDB entry count but zero IEEE and Hirma entry counts indicates its neighbors were identified purely from learned MAC addresses rather than any LLDP exchange.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.14.7.2.1.1.7
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HMLLDP-MIB::hmLLDPStatsIfaceFDBEntryCount

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.14.7.2.1.1.7.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HMLLDP-MIB::hmLLDPStatsIfaceFDBEntryCount.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> hmLLDPStatsIfaceFDBEntryCount.1
