OID (symbolic): HM2-PLATFORM-PORTSECURITY-MIB::hm2AgentPortSecurityViolationTrapMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.12.20.1.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: HmEnabledStatus

Access: read-write

Description: This variable is used to enable or disable the sending of new violation traps designating when a packet with a disallowed MAC address is received on a locked port.

What is hm2AgentPortSecurityViolationTrapMode?

This HmEnabledStatus value, default disabled, turns on or off SNMP traps for port security violations on a given port. Enabling it lets an admin get notified in real time whenever a disallowed source MAC address arrives on a locked port, rather than having to poll violation counters. For example, enabling this on a server-room port would trigger an hm2AgentPortSecurityViolation trap the moment an unrecognized laptop is plugged in.
