hm2AgentPortSecurityDynamicLimit

Module: HM2-PLATFORM-PORTSECURITY-MIB

OID (symbolic): HM2-PLATFORM-PORTSECURITY-MIB::hm2AgentPortSecurityDynamicLimit

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.12.20.1.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: This variable signifies the limit of dynamically locked MAC addresses allowed on a specific port.

What is hm2AgentPortSecurityDynamicLimit?

This Unsigned32 value (0-600, default 600) caps how many dynamically learned MAC addresses can be locked onto a given port. Admins lower it to restrict how many end devices can auto-register on a shared port, preventing an unbounded flood of learned addresses from filling the lock table. Setting it to 2 on a port would let only the first two source MAC addresses seen become dynamically locked, discarding traffic from any additional MAC.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.12.20.1.2.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> HM2-PLATFORM-PORTSECURITY-MIB::hm2AgentPortSecurityDynamicLimit

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.12.20.1.2.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> HM2-PLATFORM-PORTSECURITY-MIB::hm2AgentPortSecurityDynamicLimit.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.12.20.1.2.1.2.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> hm2AgentPortSecurityDynamicLimit.1
