hmDVMRPNeighborNotPruning

Module: HIRSCHMANN-DVMRP-MIB

OID (symbolic): HIRSCHMANN-DVMRP-MIB::hmDVMRPNeighborNotPruning

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.15.4.100.1.1.7.2

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: A hmDVMRPNeighborNotPruning trap signifies that a non-pruning neighbor has been detected (in an implementation-dependent manner). This trap should be generated at most once per generation ID of the neighbor. For example, it should be generated at the time a neighbor is first heard from if the prune bit is not set in its capabilities. It should also be generated if the local system has the ability to tell that a neighbor which sets the the prune bit in its capabilities is not pruning any branches over an extended period of time. The trap should be generated only if the router has no other neighbors on the same interface with a lower IP address than itself.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' HIRSCHMANN-DVMRP-MIB::hmDVMRPNeighborNotPruning
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.248.15.4.100.1.1.7.2

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:58280->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (409495464) 47 days, 9:29:14.64
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: HIRSCHMANN-DVMRP-MIB::hmDVMRPNeighborNotPruning
