hh3cRmonExtAlarmInterval

Module: HH3C-RMON-EXT2-MIB

OID (symbolic): HH3C-RMON-EXT2-MIB::hh3cRmonExtAlarmInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.25506.2.125.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-create

Description: The interval in seconds over which the data is sampled and compared with the rising and falling thresholds. When setting this variable, care should be taken in the case of deltaValue sampling - the interval should be set short enough that the sampled variable is very unlikely to increase or decrease by more than 2^31 - 1 during a single sampling interval.

This object may not be modified if the associated alarmStatus object is equal to valid.

What is hh3cRmonExtAlarmInterval?

This read-create value sets the sampling interval, in seconds (10-65535), over which the monitored variable is measured before being compared against the rising and falling thresholds. Because deltaValue sampling subtracts the previous reading from the current one, admins must keep this interval short enough that the counter can't wrap past 2^31-1 in one cycle, and once the row's status is set to valid the interval becomes locked and can't be changed. A typical setup leaves this at its default of 1800 seconds (30 minutes), sampling a counter once per half hour.
