Description: The status of a mirror group. A mirror group will be inactive
when it was created.
The status of a mirror group can be changed automatically from inactive
to active when appropriate conditions were met, also, it can be changed
automatically from active to inactive when these conditions disappeared.
Followings are conditions for a mirror group to become active:
group type conditions
============================================================================
local mirroring-port, monitor-port
remoteSource mirroring-port, remote-probe vlan, reflector-port(may not
be supported by some products)
remoteDestination monitor-port, remote-probe vlan
What is hh3cMGStatus?
This read-only INTEGER (active(1)/inactive(2)) reports whether a mirror group is currently active, which happens automatically once its required conditions are met (mirroring-port and monitor-port for local groups; additionally remote-probe VLAN and possibly reflector-port for remote groups) and reverts to inactive when those conditions no longer hold. Admins check this to confirm a newly configured mirror group has all its required components in place and is actually forwarding mirrored traffic. Seeing inactive(2) on a local group would tell an admin they still need to configure both a mirroring-port and a monitor-port.
