hh3cMACInfomationWorkMode

Module: HH3C-MAC-INFORMATION-MIB

OID (symbolic): HH3C-MAC-INFORMATION-MIB::hh3cMACInfomationWorkMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.25506.2.87.1.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Hh3cMACInfoWorkMode

Access: read-write

Description: The working mode of MAC Information feature. If the object is set to trap(1), the device will use trap mode to notify the MAC address information and all properties of trap interrelated is valid. If the object is set to syslog(2), the device will use syslog mode to notify the MAC address information and all properties of trap interrelated is invalid.

What is hh3cMACInfomationWorkMode?

This object selects whether the device reports MAC learn/remove events via SNMP trap(1) or via syslog(2) messages. The choice determines which of the trap-related objects and counters (such as hh3cMACInformationTrapSendNum or hh3cMACInfoTrapIndex) are active, since switching to syslog(2) makes all trap-related properties invalid. For example, an admin integrating with an SNMP-based NMS would set hh3cMACInfomationWorkMode to trap(1), while one relying on a centralized syslog server would choose syslog(2).
