hcAlarmStatus

Module: HC-ALARM-MIB

OID (symbolic): HC-ALARM-MIB::hcAlarmStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.16.29.1.1.1.1.19

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: RowStatus

Access: read-create

Description: The status of this row.

An entry MUST NOT exist in the active state unless all objects in the entry have an appropriate value, as described in the description clause for each writable object.

The hcAlarmStatus object may be modified if the associated instance of this object is equal to active(1), notInService(2), or notReady(3). All other writable objects may be modified if the associated instance of this object is equal to notInService(2) or notReady(3).

What is hcAlarmStatus?

This is the RowStatus control column governing the lifecycle of this alarm entry. Admins use it to activate, suspend, or delete the alarm; most other writable columns in the row can only be modified while this status is notInService or notReady, not while active. Setting hcAlarmStatus to active after configuring the variable and thresholds starts the alarm actually sampling and comparing against those thresholds.
