hcAlarmAbsValue
Module: HC-ALARM-MIB
OID (symbolic): HC-ALARM-MIB::hcAlarmAbsValue
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.16.29.1.1.1.1.5
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: CounterBasedGauge64
Access: read-only
Description: The absolute value (i.e., unsigned value) of the hcAlarmVariable statistic during the last sampling period. The value during the current sampling period is not made available until the period is completed.
To obtain the true value for this sampling interval, the associated instance of hcAlarmValueStatus must be checked, and the value of this object adjusted as necessary.
If the MIB instance could not be accessed during the sampling interval, then this object will have a value of zero and the associated instance of hcAlarmValueStatus will be set to 'valueNotAvailable(1)'.
What is hcAlarmAbsValue?
This is the unsigned absolute value of the sampled variable measured during the last completed sampling interval. Admins read it alongside the accompanying value-status object to get the true sampled value, since its sign and validity must be adjusted using that companion object. A reading of zero combined with a value-status of valueNotAvailable tells an admin the monitored variable could not be polled during that interval rather than that the metric was actually zero.
