Description: ID assigned to a PEX. The value range is h3cPexMinAssociateId to h3cPexMaxAssociateId. The value is 0xffff if the PEX is not assigned an ID. For a successful configuration, the ID should not be used by any other PEX.
What is h3cPexPortAssociateId?
This object holds the ID assigned to the port extender attached at this PEX port, with a value of 0xffff meaning no PEX has been assigned an ID yet. Each active PEX in the topology must have a unique associate ID within h3cPexMinAssociateId to h3cPexMaxAssociateId, so configuring a duplicate causes the assignment to fail. An admin bringing a new PEX unit online would SET this object to an unused ID like 5 to register that extender with the parent switch.
