a3ComVlanEncapsIfIndex

Module: GENERIC-3COM-VLAN-MIB-1-0-1

OID (symbolic): GENERIC-3COM-VLAN-MIB-1-0-1::a3ComVlanEncapsIfIndex

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.10.1.14.4.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The index value of this row and the encapsulation interface's ifIndex in the ifTable. The NMS obtains the index value used for creating a row in this table by reading the a3ComNextAvailableVirtIfIndex object.

What is a3ComVlanEncapsIfIndex?

This value is both the table index and the ifTable ifIndex of a VLAN encapsulation interface, which multiplexes several tagged VLANs over a single physical segment. As with VLAN interfaces, an NMS must first read a3ComNextAvailableVirtIfIndex to obtain a valid unused index before it can create a new row in this table. To provision a new 802.1q encapsulation interface, an NMS reads a3ComNextAvailableVirtIfIndex, say it returns 10, and uses that same value to set a3ComVlanEncapsIfIndex for the new row.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.10.1.14.4.1.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> GENERIC-3COM-VLAN-MIB-1-0-1::a3ComVlanEncapsIfIndex

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.10.1.14.4.1.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> GENERIC-3COM-VLAN-MIB-1-0-1::a3ComVlanEncapsIfIndex.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.43.10.1.14.4.1.1.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> a3ComVlanEncapsIfIndex.1
