Description: Identifies which unit or units are the source of shelf timing defined as follows:
If one unit is defined as fourMegClk(2) then only one other unit may be defined as eightKiloClk(3) and the remaining units must be defined as inhibit(1).
If one unit is defined as eightKiloClk(3) then only one other unit may be defined as fourMegClk(2) and the remaining units must be defined as inhibit(1).
If one unit is defined as fourMegAnd8kClk(4) then the remaining units must be defined as inhibit(1).
What is gdcSc5000SrcShelfTiming?
This now-obsolete object designated which unit or units acted as the source of shelf clocking, using values like fourMegClk, eightKiloClk, or a combination of both. Admins configuring shelf clock sourcing used it to ensure only the intended units generated the 4MHz and 8kHz timing signals, since only one unit could supply each clock type at a time. For example, setting one unit to fourMegClk(2) and another to eightKiloClk(3), with the rest left at inhibit(1), designated exactly two units as the shelf's clock sources.
