sIfMauType

Module: GBNDeviceSWAPI-MIB

OID (symbolic): GBNDeviceSWAPI-MIB::sIfMauType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.13464.1.2.2.2.6.2.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OBJECT IDENTIFIER

Access: read-only

Description: This object identifies the 10 or 100 Mb/s baseband or broadband MAU type. An initial set of MAU types are defined above. The assignment of OBJECT IDENTIFIERs to new types of MAUs is managed by the IANA. If the MAU type is unknown, the object identifier

unknownMauType OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { 0 0 }

is returned. Note that unknownMauType is a syntactically valid object identifier, and any conformant implementation of ASN.1 and the BER must be able to generate and recognize this value.

This object represents the operational type of the MAU, as determined by either (1) the result of the auto-negotiation function or (2) if auto- negotiation is not enabled or is not implemented for this MAU, by the value of the object sIfMauDefaultType. In case (2), a set to the object sIfMauDefaultType will force the MAU into the new operating mode.

What is sIfMauType?

Reports the currently operating physical medium type (e.g. 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T) for the MAU, as determined either by auto-negotiation or by sIfMauDefaultType. A quick way to confirm what speed/media a port actually came up at versus what was configured.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.13464.1.2.2.2.6.2.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> GBNDeviceSWAPI-MIB::sIfMauType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.13464.1.2.2.2.6.2.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> GBNDeviceSWAPI-MIB::sIfMauType.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> sIfMauType.1
