Description:

When SVx/SPVx Preservation is enabled, existing switched connections will be preserved during transfers of switch control from the Active SCP to the Standby SCP, whether user-initiated or due to SCP failure. Cell traffic is preserved during the failover/switchover process.

When SVx/SPVx Preservation is disabled, and if Connection Preservation also is disabled, control transfers from the Active SCP to the Standby SCP will reset the switch hardware without having preserved the necessary call-state information. Hence, all switched connections will be cleared and will then have to be recreated. Cell traffic on all switched connections will be disrupted.

By default, this feature is disabled on all supported dual-scp platforms.
