Module: Fore-Switch-MIB

OID (symbolic): Fore-Switch-MIB::pnniSpvccDown

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.0.2004

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

This trap is sent when a SPVC call is cleared or deleted. The pnniSpvcSrcDownReason indicates if the call was cleared due to a better route being found or a network failure. It also may indicate SPVC deletion. This trap is only sent if pnniSpvcTrapMode is all.

What is pnniSpvccDown?

This notification is generated when an ATM Switched Virtual Circuit (SPVC) call is cleared or deleted on a Fore Switch. The trap carries additional context in pnniSpvcSrcDownReason indicating whether the call failed due to a better route discovery, network failure, or explicit deletion. An operator uses this trap to monitor SPVC stability and detect call failures in ATM networks.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' Fore-Switch-MIB::pnniSpvccDown
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.0.2004

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
