What is oamGeneratingChannelCells?
This OID is a counter of special diagnostic cells sent down an ATM channel to detect alarms (AIS = Alarm Indication Signal). It measures diagnostic traffic sent to verify the channel is still responsive. A network operator uses this to confirm the device is actively monitoring the channel health and will alert if the line goes down.
