Module: Fore-Switch-MIB

OID (symbolic): Fore-Switch-MIB::asxServiceCategoryOutputQueueCongested

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.0.2013

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: This trap indicates that the output queue for the service category has exceeded its dedicated length, and has begun overflowing into the shared buffer space on the netmod.

What is asxServiceCategoryOutputQueueCongested?

This trap notification fires when an ATM switch's output queue for a particular service category fills its dedicated buffer and begins spilling into shared memory space. Network operators receive this alert to detect congestion conditions and prevent cell loss or performance degradation. The trap helps identify ports or traffic classes that require bandwidth reallocation.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' Fore-Switch-MIB::asxServiceCategoryOutputQueueCongested
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.0.2013

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:
