Module: Fore-Switch-MIB

OID (symbolic): Fore-Switch-MIB::asxSVXCPStateDroppedCall

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.0.2027

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description:

This trap is sent when the SVx/SPVx Preservation module has insufficient memory to store one or more calls during its transfer of call and interface state information to the Standby SCP. Such calls therefore will be lost (not preserved on switchover). This trap is sent only once, no matter how many calls suffer this fate. Recovering any lost calls is possible only by disabling and then re-enabling SVx/SPVx Preservation, in order to provoke a complete retrial of the transfer process.

What is asxSVXCPStateDroppedCall?

This SNMP trap is sent when the Service Vector Processor (SVx) or Signaling Vector Processor (SPVx) Preservation module runs out of memory while transferring call state information to a standby processor during switchover. When this trap occurs, some calls may be lost and not preserved on the backup system. Operations staff use this alert to address memory constraints and review call recovery procedures.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' Fore-Switch-MIB::asxSVXCPStateDroppedCall
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.0.2027

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:63126->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (205245590) 23 days, 18:07:35.90
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: Fore-Switch-MIB::asxSVXCPStateDroppedCall

SNMPv3 example:

snmptrap -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3user -a SHA -A "AuthPass1" -x AES -X "PrivPass1" <manager> '' Fore-Switch-MIB::asxSVXCPStateDroppedCall
