asxNetModuleUp
Module: Fore-Switch-MIB
OID (symbolic): Fore-Switch-MIB::asxNetModuleUp
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.0.5
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description:
An asxNetModuleUp trap signifies that the sending protocol entity recognizes a new operational ATM Switch network module, that is identified by the board and the module numbers. This is probably caused by a hot-swap of a network module.
What is asxNetModuleUp?
This OID triggers an alert when a new ATM switch network module is detected and becomes operational, typically due to a hot-swap insertion. The alert identifies which board and module location is now active. Network operators use this notification to track hardware changes and verify that newly inserted modules are working.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' Fore-Switch-MIB::asxNetModuleUp snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.0.5
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
