Description:
This trap indicates that a series A or B network module was inserted into a switch board running in extended mode. Multicast will not work on the series B module without removing all series D modules and rebooting the rebooted.
What is asxExtendedModeViolation?
This trap fires when an incompatible network module (series A or B) is inserted into an ASX switch running in extended mode. It signals a hardware configuration conflict that prevents multicast from functioning on series B modules without also removing all series D modules. An operator would respond to this trap by physically reconfiguring the switch hardware to match the supported module mix.
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
