What is asxDS3IdleDetected?

This notification trap indicates that an Idle Maintenance Signal (IDLE) has been detected on an incoming DS3 (T3) transmission line, signaling that the line is idle or has lost synchronization. DS3 is a high-speed telecom line running at 44.736 Mbps. An operator receives this alarm to investigate circuit problems or maintenance issues on the DS3 interface.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' Fore-Switch-MIB::asxDS3IdleDetected
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.0.160

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
