foreSonetMediumConfigLoopbackMode

Module: Fore-Sonet-Ext-MIB

OID (symbolic): Fore-Sonet-Ext-MIB::foreSonetMediumConfigLoopbackMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.2.1.1.14.1.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This variable represents the current loopback status of the SONET interface. The possible values are: sonetNoLoop (1) means that the interface is not in a loopback state. sonetLineLoop (2) means that the receive data and clock are connected to the transmit data and clock. sonetDiagLoop (3) means that the transmit data stream and clock are looped back to the receiver. sonetOtherLoop (4) means that the interface is in a loopback that is not defined here.

What is foreSonetMediumConfigLoopbackMode?

Sets or reports the loopback mode for this SONET physical medium interface: sonetNoLoop for normal operation, sonetLineLoop to loop received data back out the transmitter, sonetDiagLoop to loop the transmit stream back to the receiver, or sonetOtherLoop for a vendor-specific mode. A technician typically sets this to sonetLineLoop or sonetDiagLoop temporarily to isolate whether a SONET link fault is on this port or further out in the network, then restores sonetNoLoop (the default) afterward.
