fXfrTransferType

Module: Fore-FileXfr-MIB

OID (symbolic): Fore-FileXfr-MIB::fXfrTransferType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.1.6.2.2.1.10

What is fXfrTransferType?

This read-create object specifies whether the file transfer uses binary(1) mode, with no data translation, or ascii(2) mode, which converts the data to network ASCII representation. Admins set it based on the file's content type, binary for firmware images or compressed files, ascii for plain text configuration files, to avoid corrupting the transferred data. Setting fXfrTransferType to binary(1) when transferring a firmware upgrade image ensures the file's bytes are moved exactly as-is without any text-mode conversion.
