What is snCamStatFreeL2Entries?
This object reports the current number of free (unused) entries available in the CAM (Content Addressable Memory) table for Layer 2 MAC address learning on a Foundry Networks switch. CAM memory is limited and stores learned MAC addresses for forwarding decisions. Switch administrators monitor this counter to prevent CAM exhaustion, which would force the switch to flood unknown unicast traffic and degrade performance.
