This read-only OID reports the current spanning-tree forwarding state of the port for this instance: disabled, discarding, learning, forwarding, or unknown. Admins watch this to confirm a port has reached forwarding for the VLANs mapped to that instance, or to catch one stuck in discarding longer than expected.
