Module: FASTPATH-PORTSECURITY-PRIVATE-MIB

OID (symbolic): FASTPATH-PORTSECURITY-PRIVATE-MIB::agentPortSecurityViolationTrapMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4526.10.20.1.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This variable is used to enable or disable the sending of new violation traps designating when a packet with a disallowed MAC address is received on a locked port.

What is agentPortSecurityViolationTrapMode?

This enumerated value controls whether the switch sends an SNMP trap each time a locked port receives a frame from a disallowed MAC address. Admins enable it so a monitoring system is alerted in real time to potential unauthorized devices or MAC spoofing attempts on secured ports. Setting it to enable(1) means a trap fires the moment traffic from a non-permitted MAC hits a locked port; disable(2) silences those notifications.
