What is etherBufferDrops?

Number of Ethernet frames dropped specifically because no buffer was available to hold them, distinct from the general etherResourceErrors counter. This is checked together with the buffer group (bufferAvail, bufferDrops) to see whether buffer starvation is the root cause of Ethernet packet loss.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.23.2.11.3.16
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> FASTPATH-MIB::etherBufferDrops

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.23.2.11.3.16.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> FASTPATH-MIB::etherBufferDrops.1
