Module: EdgeSwitch-ROUTING-MIB

OID (symbolic): EdgeSwitch-ROUTING-MIB::agentBootpDhcpRelayMaxHopCount

Description: The BOOTP/DHCP Max Hop Count. The relay agent silently discards BOOTREQUEST messages whose hops field exceeds the value 16 assuming that the request is looped through the intermediate agents. The default value is 4.

What is agentBootpDhcpRelayMaxHopCount?

Sets the maximum hop count (1-16, default 4) a BOOTP/DHCP relay agent will accept in a BOOTREQUEST's hops field before silently discarding it as presumed to be looping through intermediate relay agents. Admins raise this in deployments with several chained DHCP relay hops between client and server.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4413.1.1.2.6.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> EdgeSwitch-ROUTING-MIB::agentBootpDhcpRelayMaxHopCount

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4413.1.1.2.6.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> EdgeSwitch-ROUTING-MIB::agentBootpDhcpRelayMaxHopCount.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4413.1.1.2.6.1.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> agentBootpDhcpRelayMaxHopCount.1
