Description: Indicates whether the server is operational. If the server is up, the load balancer may send traffic to applications on the server. If the server is not up, the load balancer will send no traffic to the server. This status may be written by an external device that knows the state of the server.

What is extremeSlbRealServerUp?

This TruthValue setting indicates whether a specific backend real server behind the switch's server load balancer is considered operational, and the description notes it can be written externally by a health-monitoring device that independently knows the server's true state. A load-balancer administrator, or an integrated health-check system, sets this to false when a server should stop receiving new client traffic, causing the load balancer to route around it entirely, and back to true once it's confirmed healthy again. For example, an external monitoring script that detects a web server has stopped responding to HTTP requests could set this object to false to immediately pull that server out of rotation.
