Module: EXTREME-SLB-MIB
OID (symbolic): EXTREME-SLB-MIB::extremeSlbRealAppUp
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.14.2.1.3
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: TruthValue
Access: read-write
Description: Indicates whether the application is operational. If the application is up, the load balancer may send traffic to it. If the application is not up, the load balancer will send no traffic to it, but the load balancer may send traffic to other applications on the same server.
What is extremeSlbRealAppUp?
This TruthValue setting indicates whether a specific application (such as a particular service or listening port) on a backend real server is operational, which is more granular than extremeSlbRealServerUp since a server can be up while one of its applications on it has failed. An administrator or health-check integration sets this to false to stop the load balancer sending traffic destined for that one application, while the load balancer can still send traffic for the server's other, still-healthy applications. For example, if a server's database service crashes but its web service is fine, only the database application's entry would be set to false, leaving web traffic flowing normally.
